MOMPRENEUR-- WHAT'S THAT?!

A while back I posted a question on Facebook asking other moms how they feel about the word "Mompreneur", to my surprise, it sparked quite a conversation.  I would say it was about 60/40.  Some moms disliked the term (60%) , while others were o.k. with it.  For me, I like it!  After becoming a full blown entrepreneur in the last year, I have realized that I am the true definition of mompreneur-- in every sense of the word.  For this reason, I like letting those I work with that I am a mom, my family is first (after God, Of Course!) and that I am also someone with goals, life goals that I am achieving through my businesses + other ventures.  Being a mom and having a family does NOT mean that you have to give up on your dreams in life, it does not mean you can no longer pursue the goals you had in the past, it just means that now you get to bring your tribe along for your journey! Even more exciting, they get to see you work hard, for yourself + your family.  This last year of being a mompreneur has been adventurous, exciting, fun, and creative (believe me I have had many instances where I have to bring my boys with me to events, meetings, and more! And boy has that been an adventure LOL!)  Regardless of what is going on in my life with my family, I continue to work on my goals, on the different level I want to reach and more importantly the people I want to reach.  It has not been easy.  Honestly, I do not expect it to be easy, because if you doing what you love in life, your work will NEVER feel like work.  I have learned when to shift the balance and focus on certain areas more than others when I need to-- this is flexibility-- what we all should be doing regardless of whether you are an entrepreneur, stay at home mom or climbing the corporate ladder.  I truly enjoy my mompreneur world and I am even more excited to see what else will it bring me.  By the way, use the words that you are comfortable with! If mompreneur describes you + you want to use it, then USE IT! I know I will continue to use it 😆

PS- Would love to hear what your thoughts are on the term mompreneur.. leave your comments below :)

Until Next Time,
